After the fourth round of 11th
Maheshwaranand Saraswati memorial All India Open U-2200 rating Chess
tournament 4 players share the lead with aperfect score. Total 172
participants from 8 states are participating in this 9 rounds swiss, 4
days event. This tournament has a total prize money of Rs. 60,000/- with
a 1st prize of Rs. 60000.
In the 3rd round today morning Local lad Kaushik Bhave held top seed
Laxmanrao of AP to a draw in a Sicilian alapin game. Pune’s own Kiran
Panditrao & Girish Wagh continued their good run by scoring comfortable
victories over there opponents. In another upset of the round Playing on
Board 8 poras Kolgane defeated Senior player LP Khadilkar.

& K. Praneeth Surya share lead with 4 Points.
In the 4th round pune’s 10 year old Abhimanyu Puranik made a sensetion
by defeating top seed D. Laxmanrao with black pieces on the 7th board.
On top board girish Wagh was held to a draw Rahul Varma of Amravati On
2nd Board Kiran Panditrao won an impressive game with black side in
sicilan defence against Nikhil Ranade. unrated Abhay Chaudhari of Latur
won his consicutive 4th game against a rated player to become a joint
leader. In the 4th round he defeated Sagar Kadekar.
As informed by Chief Arbitor of the tournament IA Nitin Shenavi 33
players have already made the rating performance. Which is very high
performance. This tournament has total 172 players out of which 85 are
rated and 87 are unrated.
