K. Praneeth Surya of AP leads.
After the Sixth round of 11th Maheshwaranand Saraswati memorial All India Open U-2200 rating Chess tournament K. Praneeth Surya rating 1930 of AP leads with a perfect score of 6/6. Total 172 participants from 8 states are participating in this 9 rounds swiss, 4 days event. This tournament has a total prize money of Rs. 60,000/-

In the 6th round today morning K. Praneeth Surya of AP won against joint leader Kapil Lohana in a hard fought game. On Board 2 matches between 2 local players went in a favor of senior player Girish wagh. Board 3 Malleshwar Rao won a point as his opponent CS Dongre gave a walkover. On 4th Board Abhimanyu continued his good run by holding Kiran Paditrao to a creditable draw. In an upset result Isha Bhave won against 350 points higher rated prabhakar Insulkar with black pieces.

After this with only three round remaining tournament has reached a crucial stage also for prizes & for the player’s hopeful to get International rating. After the fourth round 33 players have already recorded a rating performance. 7th round game has started at 5pm today.

In the 5^th round on top Board Kiran Panditrao made a wrong sacrifise & lost a game against K. Praneeth Surya of AP. Pune’s Kapil Lohana ended dream run of unrated Abhay Chaudhari, abhay had won 4 games against rated players. On Board 3 Grish Wagh won an easy game. Abhimanyu continued his good run by winning against higher rated Nikhilesh jain.
